Gloomy Chennai

Chennai is at its gloomiest best. Feeling like being in London. It was cloudy and windy for the past few days and today rain has caught up with the wind. Chennai has had shortfall in rain this season hoping for a miracle to avoid water scarcity.

Rewatched "About Schmidt" couple of days back. The opening scene is one of the best scenes to embrace movie world. It conveys so many things. It can also be related to the scene where Meg Ryan closes her shop for the last time in "You've Got a Mail".

What would you do?

What would you do when things happen to you which you have always heard happening to people known to your friends friend? things which you assumed will happen only to others? when you know you belong to the minority? when things worse than whatever you had assumed as the worst thing that can happen to you?

In the last few days life has proved to be very difficult to live with. Yes in just a second everything you have built till that point of time can collapse like a castle of cards. The places and things which looked normal now looks like haunted and creepy places. You try to forget certain things but it doesn't last long. It just comes back at you at the speed of a tsunami. Heart is one heck of an organ it is able to withstand so much pressure.

Life has never been fair. Chance and Luck plays a major factor in how your life shapes up. I have wished many times that I had been a different person than who I am now. I wish I hadn't come across certain things, certain people which/who has shaped me who I am. I never had control over those situations but those situations had done some permanent damage from which I will never be able to recover.

How long will this agony, called life will continue? I know there is an end but 'when' is the question.

Change

It's always difficult to accept change. Sometimes a change though brings you something which you always wanted its difficult to let go of the past. Many hours are spent thinking about the past. Always the past looks beautiful than the present. May be it is because we know the result of the past but not the present.

The dialogue in Sivaji "If we come to know of the date of our death life will become hell" I do not know whether I agree to that fully. May be if we know the boundaries we can play the game in a better way. We do not have to worry about unnecassary things. But yes it might also have its own disadvantages like people will stop working. The unknown part is the driving force.

I started somewhere and have digressed into a totally different thought. I am confused.

Rabbit Hole

We dont come across movies like Rabbit Hole frequently. Very few movies satisfy us on all levels and this movie is one such movie. Almost all the stars in this movie has delivered a stellar performance. Nicole Kidman, Aaron Eckhart, Sandra Oh, Dianne Wiest and Miles Teller has done a very good job.

Though Nicole has done a similar role in Dead Calm this movie is totally different and she shelves her glamorous image and comes up heartwarming performance well supported by Aaron Eckhart.

The movie's plot had the potential to be an excellent cliched tearjerker but it avoids that and handles the subject in a realistic way without losing the tragic element.

The dialogues are another beautiful thing in this movie especially the one between Nicole and her mother where they discuss about how a tragic memory can be like a brick in your pocket.

This movie will always have a place in my list of beautiful movies.
