Air Cops

Last night there was a program in BBC about 'Air Cops'. These are cops who keep flying in Helicopters. They showed what these cops did in a single day. They had chosen the day of Notting Hill Carnival when London will be bustling with millions of people who came just for the carnival. During that day the helicopter cops remained in air for 13 hrs in total. Two helicopters were used during this period.

The most interesting part is the way the cops in air co-ordinate with the ground cops and the way they nab the culprits. From where they are the air cops can see the city as clear as their finger prints. They showed atleast five or six incidents where the air cops had to chase the culprits in car, bike, moped, bus and foot. Definitley without the air cops the chances of the ground cops nabbing the culprits is very remote. The way these cops help a fire fighting crew was also amazing.

During the night they use some infra red camera and they can see everything as clearly as during day time but in black and white.

The way these people use technology is just amazing. It did leave me longing to know whether their brothers in India that is our Indian police use these technologies.

Another thing also came to my mind about the right to privacy? Wherever you are some body is constantly monitoring you.
