There are some great comedies in Hindi. I felt even De De Pyar De was good. Ajay Devgan's Golmaal series was hilarious. I had same expectation for this movie but was disappointed. Nothing can beat Bollywood aping western culture. It doesn't matter whether they have a good story or not, they spend their time to copy everything western. This started with DDLJ but it has reached a new high or should I say low.
While the movie is good in parts the over westernized attitude makes it difficult to watch. Now what do I call as westernized? The list below
- They have bachelor party before wedding both bride and groom.
- Everyone in the movie father, mother, husband, son drinks.
- Whenever friends meet casually they have only beer from fridge.
- They have a huge bar set up during wedding.
- Hero asks Will you marry me?
- Talking about size, erection etc has become casual
- Liplock
Whoever watches this will think this is the normal culture in India.
Some dialogues were very good but will be followed by an irritating mannerism. Anil Kapoor's character which was highlighted as humorous comes out as a character with whom you cannot empathize.
If this movie is a hit then it is a new bottom.
