Chennayil Mazhai

சென்னையில் கடந்த வாரம் பெருமழை என்று கேள்விப்பட்டேன். From childhood days rain in chennai always gave me something to rejoice. May be it was because schools will be declared holidays or it is just the Rain that gave the euphoria I dont know. Water used to flow in the road like a river. This water used to come from a vast empty field behind our house. The water will be crystal clear with no dirts.

We used to go out with a mug in our hand and start looking for fishes. When we see a fish we used to kick the water with out legs so that the fish lands in land. Then we will pick it up and put it in the mug. Finally all the fish will end up in our well.

As rain used to happen around November thoughts of half-yealry exams are mixed with the memories of rain. Sometimes with exams round the corner the gloomy days do make us feel like we are at the edge of a apocalypse but here we are with Life still going on....

நேற்று Man on fire என்ற திரைபடத்தை DVD'ல் பார்த்தேன். I have heard this movie was remade after adding enough masala to suite Tamil audience. Already a friend of mine gave very good comments on this movie. So my expectations were high. As the movie started I started viewing each scene with some anticipation. Though the movie didnt live upto the expectations I had it was still watchable.

The movie was going very good till I knew that the dad of the kidnapped child had a hand in the kidnap. The movie is about a family in Mexico hires a body gaurd for their child. Denzel washington is the body gaurd and Dakota Fanning is the child. I didnt like Fanning in War of Worlds but here she has played a cute little girl. Initially Washington doesnt mingle with the child. As time goes by the child changes Washington. They become close. When everthing is looking fine the child is kidnapped right before Wahingtons eyes.

How Washington goes about taking revenge forms the rest of the story. All the revenge scenes were very powerful.

Welcome to your attempts on writing in Tamil. Regarding Rain I had a sigh of relief on seeing the news in Sun TV. I could not imagine of the chaos we used to have due to incessant rains.

Thanks Balaji.

I agree with you that incessant rain in chennai brings with it all its woes but we have suffered a lot because of lack of rain in chennai. So rain brings a smile on my face :)
