In the past I have avoided many things just to have some peace of mind. This includes avoiding people as well. This habit of mine started long time ago and I find it's relevance increasing day by day. 

Everyone is wired differently, agreed, but some stands taken by people are highly irritating. Even if you beat a fool nothing will go into his head. So there is no way we can change the people. The only thing we can do is to change ourselves. 

But everyday my circle keeps reducing. I started avoiding Television, News paper, certain whatsapp groups and certain webites which I used to visit frequently. I am not there in facebook for the same reason. 

I am a Twitter addict. In Twitter we can follow only people who are like minded which is the best part of it. But somehow toxic news finds my timeline through some route. I do not want to get out of Twitter as well. It is going to be a test of my tolerance.

Frustrated

Can you go and place cut outs or banners in the side of any road in London, New York or Los Angeles? No you cannot. You will be immediately booked.

There is one country in the world which gives that total freedom which no other country provides. Yes that is India.

But the interesting thing is whenever a mishap happens the officials will give a statement saying they didn't give permission for erecting that banner. There cannot be a much more incompetent statement than that.

In a day we can see so many banners for how many of them did the officials give permission or the erectors took permission? Zilch. Now how many people have been booked for not getting permission to erect banners? Zilch. As long as everything goes without any issues anything is fine in this country. When something bad happens these guys shirk their responsibility and say they did not give permission.

I would say these officials who didn't take action against people violating the law are bigger culprits than the offenders. These guys should be punished severely than the culprits. If only these idiots had enforced the law people will try to abide by the law.

Though "திருடனாய் பார்த்து திருந்தாவிட்டால்" logic is there policing is equally or more important for giving a reason for the robber to change.

Life has no value here in India. All over this blog you will see the same frustration. I would love to see those officials booked.

Nothing has changed still they continue the maintenance with utmost care 8 hrs a day. It will be good if we can get a record of activities they do during this 8 hours power cut.

Other government agencies should learn from TNEB on customer care.

Driving License

The step taken by the state government of TN is one of the most ridiculous steps I have seen. There are so many laws which are haven't provided the benefits for lack of implementation. Like compulsory helmet, not respecting red lights, speeding vehicles and not allowing people to ride in wrong direction. These are certain things which you can spot without even having to stop the people. You can straight away book them. Without coming up with strategies to implement existing laws stringently there is now a new law that everyone should carry their original driving license. I don't who came up with such an extraordinary vision. They must have thought through their ass to come up with such a law.

When everyone was saying we are not even feeling the existence of a government this government has proved they do exist.

With respect to center looks like they have their own agenda of hindianising entire India. Through NEET they are only fast tracking it. They have now made the state board education look like LKG. There is no problem with CBSE except it comes with enforcing Hindi across. Even the de-monetisation which looked good on paper looks like failure except for making our life miserable during those 2 months.

Punctured

One of the worst nightmares that can come true is your bike getting punctured when you are on the way to work. If it is in Chennai then it is special.

As per murphys law your bike always get punctured at a place where there wont be any sign of puncture shop in the neat vicinity. It has happened to me umpteen times and every time I had to talk quite some distance to find a shop.

Another specialty is the guy will never come to the place where the bike is. He will always ask you to bring the bike. Pushing the bike with punctured wheel will only do more damage and that is what they expect. Even if you are ready to cough up more money they don't budge.

The first answer you get is the puncture can't be repaired and we have to go for new tube. Important reason is the mouth and the puncture hole is worse because you pushed it all the way to shop at his request.

கறுப்பு பணம் - 2

மோடி 500 மற்றும் 1000 ரூபாய் நோட்டுக்கள் செல்லாது என்று சொன்னபொழுது இது நிச்சயம் நல்லது என்று நினைத்தவர்களில் நானும் ஒருவன். ஆனால் அதை செயல் படுத்தியவிதம் அந்த எண்ணத்தை பொடி பொடியாக்கிவிட்டது.

இந்தியா போன்ற கட்டுமானத்தில் பின்தங்கிய நாட்டுக்கு இது சரிப்படாது. குறிப்பாக சென்னை புயலில் சிக்கிய இந்த நாட்களில் இது தெளிவாக புரிந்தது. எங்குமே அட்டையை உபயோகிக்க முடியவில்லை. காரணம் தொடர்பு சாதனங்கள் இயங்கவில்லை. ரூபாய் நோட்டுக்களை இல்லை. இதனால் தொல்லை அடைந்தவர்களில் நானும் ஒருவன்.

இன்னும் வங்கிகளில் கூட்டம் குறைந்தபாடில்லை. நம் நாடு ஒன்று இப்படி ஒரு சர்வாதிகாரியிடம் மாட்டுகிறது அல்லது ஒரு முதுகெலும்பில்லாத ஆட்களிடம் மாட்டுகிறது .

ஆனால் இதுவரை தமிழர்கள் மட்டுமே இழித்தவாயர்கள் என்று நினைத்திருந்த எனக்கு வடஇந்தியர்களும் சளைத்தவர்களில்லை என்று உறுதி செய்யப்பட்டு இருக்கிறது. 

கறுப்பு பணம்

எல்லா  இடத்திலும் இப்பொழுது பேசப்படும் ஒரே வார்த்தை கறுப்பு பணம். அநேகர் இதற்கு ஆதரவு தெரிவித்து உள்ளனர். கறுப்பு பணம் இல்லாதவர் இந்நாளில் உண்டா? நம்முடைய பொருளாதார அமைப்பு அனைத்துமே கறுப்பு பணத்தை ஊக்குவிக்கும் வண்ணமே உள்ளது. இந்நிலையில் கறுப்பு பணம் இல்லாதவர் ஒருவர் கூட இருக்கமுடியாது.

அப்படியானால் அநேகர் இதற்கு ஆதரவு தெரிவிப்பதற்கு என்ன காரணம்? பெரிய முதலைகள் மாட்டுவார்களாம். மறுபடியும் சிறு தவறு செய்தால் அது தவறு இல்லை பெரிய தவறு செய்பவனே குற்றவாளி என்னும் ஒரு தவறான மனித மனதின் வெளிப்பாடே இது.

அது மட்டும் அல்லாது தனக்கு பத்து ரூபாய் நட்டம் வந்ததாலும் அடுத்தவனுக்கு பெரிய நட்டம் வந்தால் போதும் என்னும் இன்னொரு தவறான எண்ணத்தின் வெளிப்பாடும் இது.

Hail TNEB

I don't if anywhere else in the earth they do maintenance as well as TNEB. Only TNEB dedicates it's 200% attention towards the welfare of its customers by cutting off power for 8 hours for maintenance. They do not want to leave anything to chance so they take every effort possible to ensure top notch maintenance. They can't just do a namesake maintenance for an hour or two, Can they? They would like to maintain it in such a way it works well at least for next few hours. Sometimes they spend so much time for maintenance that they even take few hours every day. Hats Off TNEB.

And all this credit goes to the AIADMK Supremo, Amma, Puratchi Thalaivi, Thanga Tharagai. I wish they bring in some changes in legislation that they can make her the CM till the earth is there. Even after her time her dedicated ministers will rule the state like Barathan did with Rama's Sandals. I sincerely wish all these doesn't become pipe dreams.

Banana Republic

Its really getting nasty in Banana republic that you might be arrested if they come to know you sneezed when you were not supposed to. As Rajni defends himself for sneezing during a play in Muthu, you may not be able to do. Before you even open your mouth to defend you will be counting the bars.

Sometimes it looks like hitlerish governance is happening but who will tie the bell to the cat? Some people here and there were rising voices and some gutless people were atleast expressing their views in Internet media now it will also come to an end.

I have heard of such measures happening in some strong communist countries but despite than when we look at the progress they make I feel it will be better than Banana Republic.

Hope my post is not controversial in anyway.

PS: Except for Rajini and his movie Muthu everything else in above post is fictional including the country Banana Republic.

Laugh out loud

Today I read an article in The Hindu and had a hearty laugh. The point is the article was written with such serious committment. The article says that they are going to introduce ITMS in Chennai. Wow thats really wonderful to start with. The proposed cost for implementation is 150 crores. I can see your imagination running wild and you will be merging the photopraghs of Chennai and London hoping for the better.

But hold on, the moment you expand ITMS you will erase all those imagination and go back to your work. ITMS means Integrated traffic management system. Excellent whoever coined this term deserves a pat in their arse. The article has very high ambition and goes like there will be green channels for ambulances within Chennai so that they wont get struck in traffic. The moment I read that I assumed that they might talking about something like dedicated bus line, which in itself was a non starter. But no its just not about dedicated lane for ambulance you have an Italian Job in your hand. Yes, it seems there will be cameras in all signals and it will find out if an ambulance is stuck in traffic and will immediately change the signal to green. Yes sir this system is being proposed in Chennai not in some futuristic city. When you read such an article you can only laugh through your ass and move on.

But at the end of this project there will be some filthy rich people.

FM at night

Try listening to any FM station in chennai after 10. All you can hear is Ilayaraja songs. The selection of songs will be so cliched that we might feel like kicking the RJ.

Some songs which are played after 10 are

1) Kodiyile maligai poo

2) Raasathi unna kaanatha

3) Kanne kalai maane

4) Aathadi kaathadi koothada

5) Poo vasantha raja

6) Ilamayenum poongaatru

7) Poove semboove un vaasam

8) Kodai kaala kaatre

the list is endless ..

They think people will be in mood to listen to such songs only and the comedy is many people think we should listen only to such songs at night.

Beijing

China pulled it off successfuly. China all while has been considered as a closed country. Country behind iron curtain. Now they have successfully completed Olympics in both conducting and winning. India cannot dream of this in another 50 yrs also.

Whenever we raise any issue in India they blame it on population. China being more populated than India atleast has couple of cities which are comparable to any western city. Now people will scream do you know people suffer a lot in china because of communism and they will say India is the largest democracy in the world. Hypocrites.

China is striclty controlling its population. We keep blaming population for everything and do nothing to control it.

Its so fucked up.

Panicker

Today as I was returning home chennai was like a town witnessing apocalypse. Petrol bunks were overflowing with people. It exactly looked like a scene out of a disaster movie. Only in our city I have seen such panick attacks.

I myself fell victim to that when the court ordered Helmets are mandatory for both rider and the pillion rider. I went on the last day to find all helmet shops choking with people. Finally couldnt buy helmet from any of the decent shop and bought it from a dingy shop paying an exorbitant money. That too I had an helmet was just buying for pillion rider. But from next day the law was law but it was somehow made optional.

Same way people are queuing before petrol pumps as if, if they buy petrol today they never have to buy again.

Spitting Morons

If James Cameron had visited chennai before start of Titanic he would have chosen one of our chennaities to play the lead role instead of Di Caprio. He would have done this based on their spitting skill which they can showcase in the spitting scene in the movie.

Our loveable morons spit from all types of fast moving vechicles such as Bus, Lorry, Auto (Share included), bike, cycle, walking, train.

I could relate very much to Vikrams plight in the movie Anniyan when charlie spits on Vikram in the opening scene.

Today I had three such encounters and missed the gob of saliva everytime by few centimeters.

Vivek also makes fun of this attitude in one movie but our guys will laugh at that and spit and then continue the laugh.

These people are venomous than Spitting Cobras.

Hypocricy

During new year celebration at a hotel an unfortunate event occured. One person died. Police were called in and they have now framed case against the person who erected the stage and the hotel manager.

The police side says this accident occured because of the hotel managements negligence. The thing that raises interesting questions is the fact that he has quoted about something called "Stage stability certificate". This certificate it seems one has to procure from PWD. What a joke.

In chennai at any point of time people construct atleast 1000 stages for one reason or other. I dont think anybody even realises that such thing exists.

Lets assume that unfortunate accident never happened the would the police have still questioned the management regarding stage stability certificate?

What does this say? We are all in reactive mode. Only when things go awfuly wrong we will dust our rule books. It says we have laws and rules to ensure safety of the people but they just remain in letter not in action.

The authorities should think of implementing the laws before disaster strikes not wait to do a post mortem of a disaster.

There would have been 1000's of hotels which would have celebrated new year celebrations in stages without stage safety certifications. They will go scot free because the stages didnt fail. Does that mean its good no they are nothign but disasters waiting to happen. Our police inspectors as they come in the last scene of any movie will also come after disaster strikes in real life.

The hotel management cannot be held responsible for this debacle. The entire government should own the responsibility. If at all any one has conscience they should awake atleast now. But going by our history this will repeat in one form or other.

I posted long time back T.Nagar that Renganathan street in tnagar is dug for some work and they have covered it with wooden planks with iron rods beneath it. I went there this saturday and it is still in same shape. Has any idiot given safety certificate for those wooden planks? Mind it that it is one place where the crowd is at its peak. Its a disaster waiting to happen as long it doesnt happen all idiots will care a damn about that.

This kind of thing will never happen in a western country. I dont know how they cultivated such character when the most educated person in our country cant even follow the basic etiquette.

அது மட்டும் இல்லாமல் இந்த மூன்று மீடியாக்களும் எந்நேரமும் விஜய் புராணம் பாடிக்கொண்டிருப்பதன் நோக்கமும் புரியவில்லை.

ATM பட ஆரம்பம் முதல் அதற்கு கொடுக்கப்பட்ட build up சொல்லில் அடங்காது. சிவாஜியை மிஞ்சி விடும் என்று கூறி ரஜினியை அதிலும் மட்டப்படுத்தவே பார்த்தன இந்த மீடியா. உண்மையில் என்ன ஆனது என்பது வேறு விஷயம்.

இவ்வாறு புகழப்படும் விஜய், விஜய் டிவியின் மூலமாக வேறு பல விளம்பரங்களை தேடிக்கொள்கிறார்.

இந்த பதிவு விஜயின் ரசிகர்களை புண்படுத்தலாம், ஆனால் பதிவின் நோக்கம் அது அல்ல. சுய புராணம் யார் பாடினாலும் ஒரு அளவுக்கு மே மக்களுக்கு வெறுப்பு தான் மிஞ்சும். ஆனால் உண்மையை சுட்டிக்காட்ட வேண்டிய மீடியாவே இப்படி இருக்கும் போது விஜயின் புகழ் அவ்வளவு சீக்கிரத்தில் மங்காது.

Speed Breakers

Yes girls like the one given below can be speed breakers but I am not talking about such speed breakers.

Everyone who is part and parcel of chennai will know that chennai is very innovative when it comes to having speed breakers. You can find variety of speed breakers like potholes of different diameter and depth, normal speed breakers of different width and height, some speed breakers even triangular in shape.

Now coming to the actual issue as we all know there are manics out there driving cars and bikes. I want to highlight today two types of maniacs. We are all familar with the normal maniac who will drive like a T-Rex is chasing him. He will not slow even if a speed breaker in the size of elephant trap comes before him. These maniacs cause less danger than the other types of maniacs who are have a phobia for speed breakers. These idiots drive like the other maniacs but the moment they see a speed breaker in any form due to the phobia they have they will immediatley bring the vehicle from 100 to 10 in 2 seconds and will take the innocent guy coming behind them by surprise. Some idiots bring it down to 0 till the cross the speed breaker and pick up speed once they are over the speed breaker.

We should be very careful of the later type as the chances of meeting with an accident is higher with the later type.

Treatment

Saturday I thought I will complete certain bank tasks which were pending for sometime. The banks in question this time was IOB and Canara Bank. Whenever I have to visit these banks I get nervous thinking about the treatment we will receive at these banks. I dont get this feeling when I have to visit ICICI Bank which I visit frequently.

After overcoming the nervousness I hit IOB first. As usual everyone was or acted busy and no one lifted their head to acknowledge my presence. There was no sign on whom I should contact. Finally I found a sign saying Service hanging over one desk but there was a out of order card placed on that desk . There was a person sitting behind the out of order card. Now If I contact them for help saying they are below the Service desk they might shout at me saying cant you see the out of order board. I contact another person who was checking some cheques for a very long time. He pointed me to another person.

That person had typical bank employee look. I approached him but found him to be nice and finally I was able to complete my task there without any issues.

Elated by the treatment I received at IOB I approached Canara Bank with same enthusiasm. This Canara bank is the one at Guindy inside the pollution control board office. This is a very small bank and had only 4 staffs. One teller, One manager, One lady and another Guy. When I entered nobody bothered to lift up their head. The lady was in a discussion with a customer who was there with his wife and kid. The customer was explaining to the Lady staff about some accident in a dramatic manner. They were chatting so happily. The customers kid was walking here and there inside the bank as if it was his home. Either the customer was a friend of that lady or there should be some other special connection with the bank.

Since there was no way I could reach the lady I approached the other buy who was about 55 yrs. He was standing and pressing some keys in a computer and looking at the monitor as if he expected it to explode anytime. It appeared like he was never aware of something called smile in his entire life. With not much choice I asked him a question for which I received a mumbiling which needed worlds most powerful amplifier to make it audible. With lot of irritatation I asked the question again and he replied this time little louder. Finally I deposited some money and the same person threw the counter foil which flew away. He didnt even have the basic manners. There was no point in arguing with someone in whose blood there is not even a single drop of manners.

Hypocrites

Whenever famous people are asked to comment on someone who is famous in public they give feedbacks like

he is very simple though he is famous
he helped me a lot when i acted with him
its only because of him we are living
he is a vast university lot of things to learn from him
he is etc etc
he is blah blah

When a common man is asked an opinion abt another common man not in public we get replies like

he is a selfish guy
he is hopless
he is an useless moron
he cant even do this
i had to help him a lot

Now what those famous people will tell about the famous people they commented in public when they are asked personally by someone personal i dont think they will praise them as they did in public. to just move up in life some people praise top people. what hypocrites.

I stopped this long time back and ended up with lesser number of friends and to be accurate now i have only acquaintences and no friends but life is peaceful this way.

கலைஞர் தொலைக்காட்சி தொடங்கப்பட்டிருக்கும் சூழ்நிலை மிகவும் கேலிக்குரியதாக உள்ளது. இப்பொழுது இந்நாட்டிற்கு மற்றுமொரு தொலைக்காட்சி சேனலா முக்கியம்? அவர்களை கேட்டால் ஆம் என்பார்கள் ஏனென்றால் அப்பொழுது தானே சாமான்ய மக்களை சிந்திக்கவிடாமல் செய்யமுடியும். அவர்களுடைய குடும்ப சண்டையினால் ஒரு நாட்டிற்கே பாதிப்பு. சின்ன சின்ன காரணங்கள் தான் உலக யுத்ததிற்கே காரணம் எனும் பொழுது இது சாதரணம்தான்.

ஒரு தனியார் தொலைக்காட்சி சேனல் ஆரம்பிக்க வேண்டும் என்றால் எவ்வளவு செலவு ஆகும், எவ்வளவு காரியங்கள் செய்ய வேண்டும் ஆனால் இவர்கள் அத்தனையையும் சொற்ப காலத்தில் நடத்தி காட்டிவிட்டார்கள். இதற்கு இவர்களை பாரட்டவா முடியும்? இதே ஆர்வத்தில் பாதியை நாட்டின் முன்னேற்றத்திற்கும் காட்டியிருந்தால் நாம் கலாம் சொல்வதை போல் இன்னும் கனவு கண்டுகொண்டிருக்க தேவையில்லை.

சினிமா பாடல்களே இல்லாமல் ம்க்கள் வாடிக்கொண்டிருப்பதினால் தான் பாவ்ம் இலவச தொலைக்காட்சி பெட்டி, இலவச சேனல் என்று இரங்கிவிட்டது அரசு. பணத்தை மட்டுமே குறிக்கோளாக கொண்டிருப்பவர்கள் பேசாமல் அரசியலில் இருந்து விலகி பிசினஸ் செய்ய போகலாம். அரசியலையே பிசினஸாக நினைப்பவர்களை நம்மால் ஒன்றும் செய்ய முடியாது.
