More Movies

	This is one movie which I tried watching many times and every time I used to stop after 10 mins as something or other will come up. Finally managed to get time to watch this movie fully. Being a fan of Coen brothers expected a lot from this movie but this movie neither had humor nor emotions.
Hope Springs can be called as Hopeless. Bought this movie in a sale in Landmark. I am happy that I didnt pay its Original cover price. The only saving grace is its locales.
	This is great story telling though there was no reason given why the loop is broken at the end. The movie is built on series of events which never gets dull. We do wish something like that happens to us so we become like GOD.

A Serbian Film

A Serbian Film always features in any discussion on the most horrific movie one has ever seen along with movies like Salo, Cannibal Holocaust. I have been postponing watching these movies for a long time but sometime back finished watching Cannibal Holocaust and  I have already written about that experience in this blog. But ASF is one movie which I didnt want to see after reading the reviews on it.

Finally couple of days back decided to go ahead and watch it and my first reaction is "Wow it was not as bad as it was written". I felt Martyrs was mroe violent than this movie. One main reason this movie didnt feel as violent as Martyrs was that though there are shock moments in this movie which we have not seen in other movies none of them happen on screen for long moments. There are some extreme scenes but they just appear for couple of seconds.

The hero of this movie is a porn star and the movie follows through his journey when he accepts to do a movie for an unknown gang. I liked the pace and the flow of the movie.

Yes this movie is not for faint hearted as it contains certain concepts more the scenes which can defy anybodys worst imaginations.

Even though the movie touches on such topics our hero is still like any other hero who pukes the moment he realises what he has done which conveys all across the world the moral standards are the same and a hero will always be a good guy.

School Bus

After the unfortunate event that took the life of a small kid everyone in chennai is in overdrive. They will be like this for a week and go back to their original life style. The problem doesnt lie with that specific school bus or that specific inspector who gave FC for that bus.

The immediate order that came out from government is all school buses should be reinspected. One can only laugh at such amatuerish statements. What about the safety of people travelling in vehicles other than school buses? What about the safety of people travelling in unevenly constructed roads?

Sometime back a kid died after skidding on top of construction material which was put out in the road. They issued an order saying whoever puts construction material in road will be fined or arrested. But it will be difficult to find a road in chennai without construction materials occupying almost half the road.

I have written many times in this blog that human life has very little value in India. The government always washes its hands saying it cannot do anything or does certain things without commitment just to appease the people at that moment.

We have to take care of ourselves in this country where the roads are filled with idiots and the governing authority and the controlling authority (police) are the biggest idiots of them all.

Cocktail

Posting after a very looong time. Lot of things happening which keeps me occupied. Even through this difficult times I managed to watch some movies.

Om Shanti Om - I expected the movie to be entertaining but it just goes on and on and I was unable to feel for any of the characters in this movie. I felt it was a bit over the top.

Parichay - A peaceful movie. Its like a Vikraman movie where all the characters are good and there are no villains. The song Musafir hoon yaaron is high point of this movie.

We need to talk about Kevin - A movie with an ending which is left to the viewer to understand. This movie is a gloomy one and you will feel like you want to slap that kid Kevin. That too just the day after I watched this movie heard about the incident happened in US where they were screening Dark Knight Rises.

Crazy Stupid Love - This movie was awesome. Whenever you feel this movie is going to take the cliched path it will prove you wrong. Ryan Gosling looks awesome as usual. I have become a fan of Steve Carell been watching many of his movies and he always delivers.

Date Night : Another Steve Carell movie and Tina Fey looks good in this movie. Another laugh a minute movie.

Kalakalapu Masala Cafe - This was an ok movie from Sundar C. Siva was hilarious.

Oru Kal Oru Kannadi

I enjoyed the previous two outings of Rajesh. I was infact pleasently surprised when I saw Boss Engira Baskaran when it didnt have any boring part. So naturally expectation was high for his new outing. Especially the media was going ga ga over OK OK.

But I was disappointed with the movie. It didnt have anything going for it except for occasional Santhanam laughter. Most of the scenes were unnecassary and appear out of nowhere. There was absolutely no continuity. It was like watching Memento sometimes.

City of woes

Chennai should be called as city of woes. The problems in this city just keeps getting worse. Both nature and man play havoc in this city.

Power cut still continues ..
Temparatures hovers above 40 deg celsius for days .. one of the worst summer I have seen .. not a single drop of rain ..
Water scarcity ..
Petrol scarcity .. in a city where buying petrol during normal days itself is a challenge the past one week has been nightmare. It looks like doomsday where people are running around killing each other for water and petrol.
Petrol price hike ..
Cheating petrol pump guys ..
Bus fare hike ..
Electricity tariff hike ..

This city is just destined for disaster.
